Our double-sided axe file with medium grit (cut 2) is ideal for shaping the cutting edge of your axe and giving it a solid basic sharpness. It has been specially developed for axes and similar tools. After filing, the axe is ready for use – but can be further refined with finer accessories such as our axe sharpening stone if a particularly sharp edge is desired.
The top side with a single grind has a single tooth pattern; the bottom side has a cross grind and a double tooth pattern. The cross grind allows for quick material removal when re-profiling or removing dents and nicks on the cutting edge. The single grind is intended for finer repairs, finishing, or deburring. The flat handle fits securely in the hand and the hanging hole at the end allows for convenient storage.
