What accessories does Helko offer?

The Helko accessory range includes replacement handles, leather sheaths, sharpening and maintenance tools, as well as protective and storage solutions.
All products are tailored to the dimensions and requirements of Helko axes and hatchets.
Whether for retrofitting, maintenance or transport – the accessories are designed to optimally complement functionality, safety and durability.

Which replacement handles are available?

Helko offers replacement handles made of high-quality American hickory wood , suitable for all series – Traditional, Classic and Vario.
The handles are sanded smooth, treated with boiled linseed oil , and supplied including a wooden wedge and a safety wedge.
Each replacement handle is perfectly matched to the respective head geometry to maintain the original balance and striking characteristics of the tool.

What protective and transport solutions are available?

Vegetable-tanned leather sheaths are available for all Helko axes and hatchets, reliably protecting the head and cutting edge.
They are traditionally handcrafted and offer protection during transport or storage.
In addition, carrying bags and protective covers are available, which ensure extra safety and comfort during transport.

How can I properly care for and sharpen my axe?

For regular maintenance, Helko recommends the use of sharpening stones and special care oils .
Sharpening stones with different grit sizes ensure precise cutting edge maintenance – from pre-sharpening to fine honing.
Linseed oil or special wood oil protects the handle from moisture, while metallic parts are protected from corrosion with a thin film of oil.
This ensures that every tool remains permanently sharp, grippy and functional.

Are all accessories available individually?

Yes. All accessories – from replacement handles to screws and backplates of the Vario Line, to leather sheaths and care products – are of course available individually .
This allows Helko tools to be maintained sustainably without having to buy complete sets or new products.
